Secrets of Snow
A white blanket of wonder lies outside; outside lies a thick layer of white. White is happiness. White is bright. White is the single secret in the Winter known as snow. It is as fluffy as the new pillow that has just been bought. It is as quiet as the needle drop. It is as white as a perfect cloud. The first snowfall of the season sprinkles over town and creeps into the neighborhood. Snowflakes shower down as if the sky is my showerhead. White, winter, wind, wonders, world; the many words starting with "W". Snow will keep falling, accumulating, pouring down; the sky has no limit. Secrets are still buried within the layers of soft ice. My hand touches gently, picks up a few subtle snowflakes, and simply let them fly away with the wind. Wherever my boots swipe the snow, marks are left signifying my presence. Look outside, snowflakes are still flying in the sky, falling from above, and gliding from one place to the other. Alongside my happiness, I sense that the wind is resting, the trees are still, and the white wonders of the world surround me. Peace, quiet, and a smile; simply the secrets of snow.
